The first album by Collective FUKUSHIMA!, an improvising orchestra open to anyone and bringing together participants from across Japan, is now being released. Initiated by Project FUKUSHIMA! and produced and conducted by Otomo Yoshihide, the album features improvisations and ondo performed by 77 participants of all ages, from children to adults, who gathered for Festival FUKUSHIMA! in 2025.

[About Collective FUKUSHIMA!]
Formed in 2023 following an open call for musicians to accompany the ‘Festival FUKUSHIMA!’, held every August in Fukushima City.
In addition to providing musical accompaniment for the Bon Odori, the group also holds live performances featuring improvised music by members who come together on the day, including impromptu participants.
It is an open-access music collective where anyone can join simply by showing an interest, regardless of musical experience, background, age or gender.
The collective is produced by Yoshihide Otomo, who is also a member.
